Good Cause Tourism in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

As Cambodia’s capital city Phnom Penh hosts the head offices of many of the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) who operate in Cambodia, as well as many fine retail outlets for traditional crafts produced by the less advantaged. A country as poor as Cambodia attracts a host of aid donors specialising in a wide range of areas such as human rights, legal advocacy, good governance, administrative processes etc. Much of this greatly needed assistance is intangible and not directly related to the activities of tourism. As such Asia Adventures has chosen to work with organisations whose work is more tangible, and which work to help those causes which will be clearly evident to tourists whilst visiting Phnom Penh. Our partners work with the large number of street children and orphans, landmine victims and those with other disabilities, the poverty of the capital’s cyclo drivers, and those reviving Cambodia’s culture and traditions.
