Visa Information
Below please find the visa requirements for Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is of utmost importance that you are fully satisfied with how you will obtain any necessary visas, as Asia Adventures can only be of limited assistance should you arrive at an international border crossing / country entry point without a visa, or are not permitted to a visa 'on arrival'.
Cambodia Visa Information
To enter Cambodia citizens of most countries require a visa. A 30 day tourist visa (which can be extended for one extra month) can be obtained on arrival for citizens of most countries, if you are not sure if you require a visa or are eligible for an ‘on arrival’ visa please check with your Embassy. Your passport should have 6 months validity remaining from the date of departure from Cambodia, and at least one empty page. An ‘on arrival’ visa can be obtained at Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap - Angkor International Airport and selected land border crossings. The current price for a one month tourist visa is $20 and two passport sized photographs are required. The ‘on arrival’ visa system is a simple enough process and on average entails a 20 to 30 minute wait. It is also possible to apply for a single entry tourist visa online, an ‘e-Visa’, the cost is still $20 with an additional $5 processing fee. For this extra $5 you get additional piece of mind, knowing that you have definitely been approved for a visa before departing your home country, and perhaps saving 20 to 30 minutes at Immigration Control. The ‘e-Visa’ is for 30 days, however it is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Currently the ‘e-Visa’ is accepted at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap - Angkor International Airports, and the following land borders: Bavet (Cambodia) - Moc Bai (Vietnam); Cham Yeam (Cambodia) - Hat Leuk (Thailand); and Poipet (Cambodia) - Klo Leuk (Thailand). For further information and to apply for an ‘e-Visa’ please visit the Cambodian e-Visa website,
http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh. You should always ensure that your passport is stamped on arrival, especially if you enter via a land border.
Please note: a visa on arrival is not permitted for holders of the following passports: Afghanistan; Algeria; Bangladesh; Iran; Iraq; Pakistan; Saudi Arabia; Sri Lanka; and Sudan. If you hold one of these passports you MUST obtain a Cambodian visa before arriving in the country. You are also required to hold a sponsor letter or invitation from a company / organisation / travel agent, and you are also advised to hold a valid return ticket.
Please note: a visa is not required for citizens of the following countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Laos.
